Week 1 - Sunday:

Week 1 - Monday:
Morning
Staffing rqmts: IMET (2), IMET sub-contractor (2), OPS11 (1), Site (3 min)
Deployment Team
- Conduct in-briefing meeting (typical start time 8:00 a.m.)
- Review of previously delivered documents.
- Complete in-briefing readiness checklist
- Review on-site installation activities for the two week period.
- Deployment team briefs RWS INCO, RRS ATP, Operator Familiarization Training
- Intermet personnel brief Safety Program, TRS INCO
- Review Safety Program requirements, Hot Work Permit and Permit-Required Confined Space permits signed (if applicable) and INTERMET authorized to begin ART removal work
- Review other permits
- Intermet conducts SAFETY meeting
- Site walkthrough to verify cable run placement inside the WFO, radome inspection, conduit access holes, and possible problem areas
- Perform/record inventory of NLSC Kit equipment.
- Perform/record inventory of RWS equipment.
- Perform/record inventory of TRS equipment.
- Inspect the GPS Repeater installation, including receive antenna mounting and grounding, repeater amplifier placement and power source, re-radiating antenna placement and the radiosonde baseline locations and verify operation
- Assemble and locate the RWS DCE enclosure
Site Personnel
- Attend in-briefing
- MicroArt decommissioning occurs, remove any remaining cables from conduit or LRUs from radome. Note: Access to Radome will be prohibited after INTERMET begins ART removal.
INTERMET
- Attend in-briefing
- Present safety program discussion
- Present TRS INCO discussion
- Conduct SAFETY meeting
- Begin dissection of ART system
- Set up ASHTECH equipment and survey PDB elevation
Afternoon

- Verify SPS firmware version and functionality.
- Re-locate RWS to the final location and assemble
- Begin RWS INCO (install RWS operating software and RRS operational software and complete peripheral tests
- Issue request to initial issue second case of radiosondes
Site Personnel
- Continue with removal of cable
- Begin removal of ART Master Control Unit console in office.
- Be available on as-needed basis
INTERMET
- Complete the removal of ART equipment from radome
- Install GPS antenna system in radome
- Set up ASHTECH equipment and survey TRS location
Week 1 - Tuesday:
Morning:

Deployment Team
- Conduct daily in-briefing to outline the day’s activities (typical start time 8:00 a.m.)
- Continue RWS INCO procedures which do not require operational TRS, and complete LDAD tests
Site personnel
- Attend daily in-briefing
- Complete remaining MCU scrap effort
- Inventory and package LRUs for return to NLSC
INTERMET
- Attend daily in-briefing
- Complete collection of TRS geo-location survey data if not already done.
- Begin electrical work and ground connection for TRS installation
- Begin TRS installation
Afternoon:

Deployment Team
- Continue with RWS INCO procedures which do not require operational TRS to complete
- Perform RSOIS survey
- Install RWS DCE
Site Personnel

INTERMET
- Complete electrical work for TRS installation

- Remove remaining debris from radome, and broom-clean
- Run fiber optic cables
- Submit the PDB geo-location data to OPUS (24 hours after stopping Ashtech)

Week 1 - Wednesday:

Deployment Team
- Conduct daily in-briefing to outline the day’s activities.
- Verify DCE comm ports baud rates
- Completes RWS INCO (TRS communication test procedures may be incomplete)
- Review proposed training schedule with upper air focal point
Site personnel
- Attend daily in-briefing
- Upper air focal point provides preliminary training schedule
INTERMET
- Attend daily in-briefing
- Complete TRS installation activities in preparation for INCO
- Submit TRS geo-location data to OPUS (24 hours after stopping last survey)
Afternoon:

Deployment Team
- Witness TRS INCO
- Contacts NLSC to coordinate return of cannibalized LRUs
- Completes RWS INCO as necessary
- Update Station Information Screen to reflect geo location survey results (prior to first boresight flight)
- Perform first boresight flight (QSS)
Site Personnel
- Participate in boresight flight (optional)
INTERMET
- Provide geo-location survey report to deployment team
- Begin TRS INCO including first boresight flight
Week 1 - Thursday:

- Performs GPS repeater calibration
- Begin RRS Acceptance Test Procedure (ATP)
- Conduct the RRS Initialization Acceptance Test Procedure (ATP).
- The Site observing representative and Deployment team personnel complete the ATP form.
- Complete flight packet with all appropriate documentation including first flight
- Complete site-specific data table and provide to ESA
Site Personnel
INTERMET
- Provides all site-specific data (TRS coefficients) to Deployment Team
- Completes radome clean up
- Support RRS ATP
Week 1 - Friday:

- Sign and FAX CD-50 (paper) to NOAA Warehouse for disposal of ART
- Coordinate return of dumpster
- Perform final radome/site inspection.
- Continue RRS ATP
- Conduct the RRS Release Detection ATP.
- The WFO observing representative and Deployment team personnel complete the ATP form.
- Complete flight packet with all appropriate documentation
Site personnel
- Attend in-briefing
- Perform final radome/site inspection
- Witness RRS ATP
INTERMET

- Remedy outstanding radome/site inspection issues

- Re-install the RRS application software using actual site WMO number

Week 2 - Monday:
Note: Intermet will be responsible for fault isolation and repair of TRS failures experienced during the familiarization training period.
First Shift
Staffing rqmts: QSS(1), Site (all operators who have completed RRS training)
Deployment Team
- Conduct a sounding at 6:00 am local time and perform the End-to-End Communication test (if successful, this will be the first flight of record).
- Complete flight packet with all appropriate documentation.
- Conduct the RRS familiarization classroom session starting at 8:00 a.m. local time (requires a minimum of 4 RRS trained operators)
- Introductions.
- System background.
- Conducted Simulated Flight.
- Using the RRS Checklist.
- Radiosonde preparation and handling.
- Release procedures and CDU training (CD).
- Brief review of Rework.
- Offline Utilities.
- Archiving, zipping and transmitting flights.
- In the dome, CDU hands on training (group 1) and/or Review second and third release procedure (group 2)
- Review final flight schedule
- If time allows, conduct special sounding for familiarization training.
Site personnel
- Upper air operators who have successfully passed the RRS test participate in familiarization classroom session (4 hours)
- Participate in special familiarization training sounding if conducted, participate
- Witness End-to-End Communication test
Second Shift
Staffing rqmts: IMET (1 on call), QSS(1) , Site (RRS trained staff as available)
Deployment Team/Site Personnel
- Conduct 00 UTC RRS sounding (Familiarization Training).
- Dependent on site personnel availability, special soundings may be conducted (Familiarization Training).

Staffing rqmts: IMET (1), OPS11 (1 via telephone), Regional HQ (1 via telephone) QSS(1), Site (3 focal points min.)
Deployment Team/ Site Personnel/ INTERMET/ Regional Representative
- Conduct wrap-up meeting with site personnel.
- Complete/initial Post-installation Checklist.
- Deployment Team generates Installation Discrepancy Record
- Site property custodian signs CD-509
- Representative of RRS Program Office, Site and Region sign RRS Acceptance Certification
- Contractor delivers redlined installation drawings (may be deferred)
- Contractor submits DD-250 (may be deferred)
Second Shift
